ALAS! The first Gold Hand Show is here!
Gabbey Velie, a student at the University of Central Oklahoma’s Academy of
Contemporary Music, is wasting no time in making her dreams in the music business a reality.
Teaming with Gold Hand Girls, Gabbey will be hosting a house show featuring the local
musicians of Space for Lease, Bungalouski, and SABER.
Gold Hand Girls is a recently established platform that promotes women in the music
business with the mission to eliminate the stark gender gap in the industry. The platform
encourages driven and independent women to host their own shows, giving them an opportunity
to gain critical experience with communicating directly with local artists and audio engineers as
well as managing the logistics of pulling off a successful show.
The platform could not have picked a more suitable woman to back than the spritely
socialite, Gabbey Velie. Her positivity, passion for music, and natural ability to communicate
leave no room for anything but total confidence in the success of this show. At just 20 years old,
Gabbey is already paving her way into the music business in a way that will inspire other women
to do the same.
The Purple House Show will be bringing a psychedelic, funky vibe to Norman on Saturday, February 18th.
